There are apps dedicated to photography and others to video. In this case, the protagonist is the audio.
In the universe of social networks there is a new favorite: Clubhouse. It is a social network oriented exclusively to audio and which describes itself as "a space for casual and direct conversations".
The app, developed by Paul Davidson and Rohan Seth, already has 1,500 users worldwide and is betting, in practical terms, that its users meet in virtual rooms to chat or listen to live conversations.
Its launch was recorded a few months ago, after the private firm Andreessen Horowitz financed it after reviewing the beta version. Specialized media report that, to date, Clubhouse is valued at about $ 100 million.
Here we tell you how you can access and how this social network works.
How can you access the Clubhouse?
For now, the application, which is still in its beta version, is only available for iOS. That is, it can only be accessed from an iPhone or iPad.
Now, one of the characteristics of this social network is exclusivity. For this reason, in addition, Clubhouse can only be accessed with an invitation from a user who is already registered. Once inside, each new user has two invitations for two potential new users.
To get more invitations, certain actions have to be done on the platform. It is a Clubhouse strategy to encourage activity within the app.
How does it work?
Clubhouse is based on voice audios whose content can last a certain time. The idea, say its creators, is that the conversations are spontaneous, so the app records the audio directly from the phone or headphones.
The platform is structured in rooms, or rooms, created by users, who can talk alone, with guests of their choice or by encouraging listeners to participate. Thus, in each room there are two types of users: the stage, made up of moderators and people who intervene; and the stall, where are the users who listen and who can eventually ask to speak and intervene if the moderator accepts.
Rooms can be private or public, in which case any user can enter to listen
Its creators also explain that as of 10 pm "the tranquility ends", as Back of the bus arrives, a great live discussion. It goes from what used to look like a conference to a bar where, yes, it is forbidden to talk about technology.
